Ingredients
for 9 wreaths
- 5 cups corn flakes cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons green food coloring
- red cinnamon candy, to taste
Preparation
In a large saucepan over medium heat–melt the butter.
Add the marshmallows and food coloring–stirring constantly–until the marshmallows have melted.
Remove from heat and fold in corn flakes until all the cereal is coated.
Drop onto wax paper until cool enough to touch (but still warm).
Form cooled/warm clusters into wreaths and finish by pressing in cinnamon candies to decorate.
Enjoy!
Hot Mama Grade: B+
Hot Mama Notes: I haven't made these in forever. Years and years. But I wanted simmering colorful and fun and easy! They are kind of a lain to make, but not as bad as I remember. Rice ketosis treats are easier because you are not trying to make individuals, just stuff the sticky, messy goo into the pan. The grocery store was out of red hots candies, so I went with a gel decorating tube and made dots myself. This isn't ideal, but I have to say, in a pinch, it's not too bad! I didn't try to make any wreaths. I was going for Holly, but really they just look like green blobs, but that is okay. They are tasty! I also think coverage was a little light, so maybe I would add another 1/2c of marshmallows.
